Adwoa Aboah

Adwoa made her long awaited screen debut in the acclaimed series TOP BOY this year, playing Jaq’s (Jasmine Jobson) love interest Bex. She has just finished shooting the next series in which sees Becks & Jaq’s story come to the forefront. Adwoa can next be seen in the highly anticipated Disney+ series and remake of the iconic 1980’s film WILLOW, where she stars opposite Warwick Davis and Ellie Bamber. Adwoa plays Scorpia, a bad-ass warrior who is fiercely loyal to her people. 

Recognized as a ‘Next Generation Leader’ on the cover of TIME Magazine and alumni of the prestigious Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, 30-year-old actor Adwoa Aboah is a globally renowned figure, celebrated for her roles in the film and fashion worlds, as well as her outspoken and dedicated activism for young women and girls through her platform, Gurls Talk. 

 

During her youth in West London, Adwoa was a member of the prestigious National Youth Theatre, where she studied acting and found her love for the craft - a passion that has followed her into her career today - going on to complete a bachelor’s degree in Modern Drama at Brunel University. Alongside acting, Adwoa is also a committed advocate, having founded her own organization, Gurls Talk, a community-led organization dedicated to promoting the mental health and wellbeing of adolescent girls and young women.

 

Gurls Talk aims to destigmatize mental health conversations while fostering a supportive community that gives all girls a voice. Adwoa’s work with Gurls Talk is expansive, having already held events in cities across the globe and reached millions more online.

 

Through her film work, advocacy and unparalleled career in fashion, Adwoa has appeared on a wide variety of global stages, from the Women in the World Summit, to WE Day and Google Zeitgeist, and spoken alongside the likes of Salma Hayek, Idris Elba, Oprah Winfrey, Hillary Clinton and HRH Meghan Markle. Adwoa has featured in a vast array of esteemed international publications including TIME Magazine, American, Italian, Spanish, German, and Mexican Vogue, W, i-D, Dazed, and ELLE, and featured in the advertising campaigns of many brands from Calvin Klein and Rimowa to Swarovski, Burberry and Christian Dior. Currently, Adwoa is one of the global faces of Rimmel as well as a Global Nike Ambassador.

Ben Hurst

Ben Hurst (he/him) is an activist, educator, host, presenter, podcaster, model, public speaker and the Head of Facilitation and Training at Beyond Equality (formerly The Good Lad Initiative), a UK based organisation that engages men and boys in the gender equality conversation across Schools, Universities and Corporate spaces, rethinking masculinities and promoting positive personhood and healthy relationships. Ben discusses these topics online, most notably in his TEDx Talk, ‘Boys won’t be boys. Boys will be what we teach them to be’, and in print, with features in Glamour and Stylist magazine, Postscript, Positive News and many more. Ben's work focuses on dismantling the gendered stereotypes that men inhabit and encouraging them to explore their own relationships to masculinity.

Emma Appleton

Emma Appleton most recently appeared in the Working Title / BBC series, EVERYTHING I KNOW ABOUT LOVE as well as Danny Boyle’s PISTOL for FX where she plays Nancy Spungen.

Film Credits include - LAST LETTER FROM YOUR LOVER alongside Felicity Jones and Shailene Woodley for Netflix and LOLA for Bankside which is due to be released later this year.

TV Credits include - Netflix’s hit show THE WITCHER, and her breakout role as the lead in Channel 4/Netflix miniseries, TRAITORS, alongside Keeley Hawes, Luke Treadaway and Michael Stuhlbarg as well as INTERGALACTIC for Sky.

Emma started out in a short film, DREAMLANDS, which was in competition at Cannes Film Festival. Soon after she landed a leading role in the BBC series CLIQUE written by Jess Brittain then went on to shoot GRANDCHESTER, END OF THE F***ING WORLD and Ron Howard’s GENIUS: PICASSO.

Dorothy Allen-Pickard

Dorothy is a filmmaker from South-East London. Her practice is grounded in a deep interest in other people and a will to bring about social and political change. She merges documentary, fictional and theatrical techniques, and is a member of the award-winning theatre company Breach. Dorothy's films have been awarded Best UK Short at Open City, Special Mention at Oberhausen, Grand Prix at Arts Convergence, Young Director Award, shortlisted for a Grierson, received multiple Vimeo Staff Picks and have screened at festivals including LFF, Clermont Ferrand, Sheffield Doc Fest and Edinburgh International Film Festival. In 2018 she completed an MA in Directing Fiction at Goldsmiths University. In 2019, she received the BFI New Talent Award and was named as one of Broadcast’s Hotshots and in 2022 she worked as director's assistant on the Netflix series Kaos and was selected to take part in Network @LFF. She is currently developing her debut dramatic feature.

Eva Birthistle

Eva Birthistle can currently be seen on Sharon Horgan’s ‘Bad Sisters’ for Apple TV, in a lead role opposite Anne Marie Duff and Eve Hewson. Eva is best known for her role in Ken Loach’s ‘Ae Fond Kiss which saw her win a London Critics Circle Film Award. She also starred in the Oscar nominated ‘Brooklyn’ for John Crowley starring opposite Saiorse Ronan. She can currently be seen in the hit Netflix show ’The Last Kingdom’. She made her directorial debut earlier this year in the short film ‘Kathleen is Here’ starring Hazel Doupe, which she will take to festivals later this year.

Jane Randel

Jane Randel is a Social Impact advisor and co-founder of Karp Randel, a consultancy designed to help corporations, foundations and individuals achieve their business and personal goals while making a positive impact on society. She is also a co-founder of NO MORE, a global initiative intended to tackle domestic violence and sexual assault while generating greater resources for (US) national, state and local organizations working on these issues.


Jane is currently serving as a consultant to the NFL and NASCAR to help address issues of domestic violence and sexual assault within their organizations as well as in service to the public-at-large.


Previously, Jane was Head of Corporate Communications and Corporate Social Responsibility at Kate Spade & Company (formerly Liz Claiborne Inc.), responsible for managing the company’s corporate reputation through both external and internal communications. She led corporate, business and crisis media relations, and oversaw internal communications. Jane spearheaded Love Is Not Abuse, an award-winning, cause-marketing program aimed to generate awareness, educate the public and prevent violence against women, until the program transitioned to non-profit organization Break the Cycle in 2012. For more than a decade, Jane served on the Board of Directors of the Fifth & Pacific Foundation (formerly the Liz Claiborne Foundation), most recently as Chair.


Jane has served as Chairman of The Seminar, the premier organization of the highest-ranking communications and public affairs executives at the world’s most influential corporations, nonprofit organizations, academic institutions and public relations agencies. She serves on the advisory board to the Chazen Fund to Address Domestic Violence, and is currently on the Board of Temple Sharey-Tefilo Israel and serves as Vice President of Communications. She received


In 2022, Jane received the Legacy Mentor Award from the Plank Center for Leadership in Public Relations at University of Alabaman. In 2005, she was named one of 21 Leaders for the 21st Century by WomensEnews; in 2006, she was profiled in Crain’s New York Business “40 under 40”; in 2009, Jane was honored by the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York for her work on teen dating abuse; and in 2012 she received the Hero with a Heart Award from the Joyful Heart Foundation. Jane also co-authored an award-winning paper, “Coming into the Light: Intimate Partner Violence and Its Effects at Work.


Kimya Motley

Kimya Motley is the chief communications officer at A Call to Men. She is an educator, activist, author, director, and producer working to end violence against all women and girls.

Motley has been nationally recognized for her success as a dedicated leader for victims’ rights by Former Georgia Governor Nathan Deal, The Investigation Discovery Channel, the Georgia Commission on Family Violence, and more.

To educate victims and their loved ones as a brave survivor herself, Motley’s story is now used in domestic violence training videos for the National Football League to educate all 32 teams.

She released her memoir, Born of Violence, which made it to number four on the Amazon Hot New Releases List for Partner Abuse. Her story has also been featured on Good Day Atlanta, The Red Table Talk Show with Jada Pinkett Smith, The Rachael Ray Show, Daily Blast Live, and more.

Motley directed, co-wrote, and co-produced A Call to Men’s first full-length feature film, “Intentionally Erased” – a documentary about the experiences of Black trans women in the United States.

Motley is a passionate advocate for victims and survivors, working to end violence and eliminate gender inequality.


Uzma Hasan

Little House Productions is an independent production company founded and run by Uzma Hasan; a producer who focuses on bringing subversive stories to global audiences. Her latest feature film CREATURE is directed by Academy Award winner Asif Kapadia (AMY) in a ground breaking, genre busting collaboration with Lawrence Olivier Award winning choreographer Akram Khan (DESH).

Current projects on her slate include an original musical with Ritesh Batra (THE LUNCHBOX) and Amazon Studios, a period sports drama with novelist Nikesh Shukla (THE GOOD IMMIGRANT) and the British Film Institute, and a contemporary reworking of Macbeth set between London and Karachi with playwright Rabiah Hussain (SPUN). She is next shooting Gautam Malkani’s cult novel LONDONSTANI for the BFI in Summer 2022. Previous credits include Nirpal Bhogal’s FIRSTBORN, which premiered at the Edinburgh International Film Festival 2016 ahead of a worldwide sale to Netflix, and THE INFIDEL which spawned a musical and Bollywood remake DHARAM SANKAT MEIN.

In addition to Little House Productions, Uzma is Chair of the Bush Theatre, home for new writing and talent, and sits on boards for Ffilm Cymru Wales, the development agency for Welsh film as well as Bird’s Eye View, a non profit that campaigns for gender equality in film. She was previously a non executive director on the board of public broadcaster Channel 4 and the first person of colour to have that role in the channel’s 37 year history. She sits on selection committees and juries for BAFTA, the British Independent Film Awards and Film London amongst others. Uzma has worked across four continents, for independents and studios, with companies including Focus FeaturesDoha Film Institute, and Tribeca Film Festival on the development, production and exploitation of feature films.

In 2010, she was nominated by HRH Prince’s Trust for a Mosaic Arts & Culture Award; in 2012, she was nominated for the Asian Woman of Achievement Award and became a Women of the Future Ambassador; and in 2013 she was awarded the British Muslim Award for Services to Creativity.

She graduated from University of Wales, Cardiff with first class honours in English Literature and went on to read Film and Literature at Harvard University’s Graduate School of Arts and Sciences where she was a Kennedy Scholar.
